We are Taylor and Nicole Bjorklund and we make furniture and decor out of reclaimed wood from our home "woodshop" in picturesque Yardville, NJ.
It all started with a sign and a towel rack. In fact, that sign directly to my left, and that towel rack directly below me.
We were cruisin' the "strip" (or a local strip mall...) one day when Nicole spotted an abandoned pallet. She had seen a cool towel rack on Pinterest and wanted to know if I could build it. I figured I could try, it's not like I was going to sell it to anyone...
We grabbed the pallet and threw it in the back of my truck, while humming the Mission Impossible theme, and then zipped out of there with our adrenaline pumping as if we had just stolen the Mona Lisa.
When we got home, I used a hammer and an ancient crowbar to pull the pallet apart, and then a fifteen year old drill on its last legs and a hand sander from God-knows-where to put it together as a towel rack and finish it. The sign came later that night while I stood in front of my work bench trying to burn off a little more of that "pallet heist" excitement.
Nicole posted pictures on Facebook and next thing we knew, people were asking if our stuff was for sale. One year and over two hundred pieces later, I think we may have stumbled on to something.
